This short film talks about creativity and how we should enjoy, have fun, and become passionate about the things we do. Our responsibility as adults is to nurture children's dreams by passing on this creativity to them.
At the beginning of the short we see a chimpanzee playing the piano; he is a theater cleaner with great hidden talent. As he leaves the stage, he crosses paths with the master chimpanzee, who share a look that leads them into a flashback, where we can see the two children chimpanzees receiving piano lessons from a strict teacher. One of the children follows the rules, playing the piano classically and resisting his urge to have fun. Meanwhile, the other child, being true to his need to enjoy and have fun, is expelled from class by the teacher for straying off the marked path.
Back in the present, we see both chimps on the stage, each on one side of the curtain, and turning their reunion into a passionate, creative, fun, supportive piano duel, reviving the friendship that united them.
What would have happened to both chimpanzees if the musical education they received had been an exploration of what they felt rather than a suppression of them?
